Cox's Bazar:A massive influx of tourists visited Cox's Bazar sea beach over the weekend, with the bustling scene at Kolatoli, Sugandha, and Laboni points drawing both tourists and local visitors.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, despite the increased number of visitors, red flags were displayed during low tide as a safety measure, and lifeguards were on alert to prevent any swimming accidents. Their presence was particularly noted at the Kolatoli, Sugandha, and Laboni points to ensure visitor safety.
At Sugandha Point, many tourists enjoyed the sea waves with family and friends, capturing moments in photographs. Humayra Yasmin, a visitor from Dhaka, expressed her delight in the improved weather and how it enhanced her experience at the beach with her family.
Local resident Ahmed Rafiq observed that the number of beachgoers increased significantly due to the Friday holiday. He noted the mix of tourists and locals enjoying the improved weather that has revived the beach's vibrancy.
Saifullah Sifat, supervisor of Sea-Safe Lifeguard, confirmed that while sea conditions are favorable, red flags remain as a precaution, with lifeguards vigilantly watching over Kolatoli, Sugandha, and Laboni points to avert potential accidents.
Tourists also visited other attractions in the district, such as Marine Drive and Himchhari Waterfall. Mohammad Mahmudur Rahman Sayem, assistant commissioner and executive magistrate for the Tourism Cell, emphasized the importance of tourist safety and proper industry management, highlighting efforts to prevent overcharging and harassment.
Abu Morshed Chowdhury Khoka, president of Cox's Bazar Civil Society, stressed the need for increased public awareness to ensure safety and environmental protection as tourist numbers grow along the roads and throughout Cox's Bazar.
