According to United News of Bangladesh, five more people have died from dengue, and 1,935 new patients have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours until 8:00 am on Thursday. This has increased the dengue death toll in the country to 294 this year.
Among the recent deaths, three occurred in the Dhaka South City Corporation area, while two were reported in the Khulna division. Of the total fatalities, 47.9 percent were men and 52.1 percent were women.
Since January 1, 94,151 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals nationwide, with 88,208 having recovered. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that 80 deaths have occurred in the Dhaka South City Corporation area, 59 in Khulna, 35 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 25 in Chattogram, 23 in Mymensingh, 25 in Barishal, 21 in Rajshahi, 17 in Dhaka division, six in Rangpur, and three in Sylhet division.
