Naogaon:A court in Naogaon has issued arrest warrants for six individuals, including a doctor, in connection with the death of a woman after a Caesarean section at an unauthorized private hospital.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the order was passed by the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Naogaon Sadar No. 1 Amli Court. The accused include operating physician Fabliha Sadia Shafin, anesthesiologist Md Akheruzzaman Rabbi, Metro Hospital Managing Director Md Ripon Ali, operation theatre in-charge Salma Bibi Nazma, and two suspected brokers, Md Rashedul Islam Hiru and Md Nahid Babu.

The case details reveal that Rahee Muni, a resident of South Sultanpur area in Naogaon town, initially went to Naogaon 250-bed General Hospital on April 6 for childbirth. A broker allegedly convinced her to undergo a "better" Caesarean operation at Metro Hospital for Tk 8,000. Dr. Fabliha Sadia Shafin performed the surgery that night.

Relatives of the deceased alleged that gauze was left inside her abdomen, causing her condition to deteriorate. Despite a second surgery the next day to remove the gauze, her condition worsened, leading to her transfer to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura, where she died on April 9.

Naogaon Civil Surgeon Dr. Aminul Islam later confirmed that Metro Hospital was unregistered. The case reached the court's attention on April 13 after media reports, prompting the court to initiate its own proceedings and order an investigation by the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI). The PBI submitted its report on August 22, following which the court accepted it and issued the arrest warrants.
