Dhaka:The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has set new prices for Jet A-1 fuel, with rates now at Tk 182.71 per liter for domestic flights and $1.1882 per liter for international airlines.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, these adjusted prices came into effect from midnight on October 7. The changes were announced through a circular issued by BERC Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Sarkar.
The pricing decision was based on the Platts rates from September 5 to October 4, 2026. A public hearing was conducted by BERC under Sections 34(4) and 34(6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003, following proposals submitted by Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and Padma Oil Company Limited (POCL).
The commission's review considered the Platts rates of Jet A-1 during the specified period, alongside the US dollar exchange rate relevant to BPC's letter of credit settlements and other associated costs. A committee within BERC was tasked with reviewing and adjusting the monthly price of Jet A-1, factoring in international Platts rates, currency exchange fluctuations, and changes in transportation costs.
