Dhaka:The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry has recommended that urgent measures be taken to fill vacant posts within the ministry and to report on ongoing activities and vacancies.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this recommendation emerged from the committee's inaugural meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad Complex, chaired by Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui, MP. The meeting aimed to review the activities of key agencies such as the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the Bangladesh Tourism Board, and Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation. These discussions are part of broader efforts to position Bangladesh as a leading aviation hub and a desirable tourism destination.
The committee emphasized the importance of detailed reporting on the implementation of ongoing activities and existing vacancies. It also underscored the need for enhanced coordination among the ministry and its agencies to develop a modern, safe, and internationally compliant aviation and tourism sector.
Additionally, the committee highlighted the necessity of ensuring transparency, accountability, and a corruption-free environment in executing these activities. Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat, MP, along with other committee members and senior officials from the ministry and Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat, attended the meeting.
