Sixteen Rajshahi University Researchers Recognized Among World’s Top Scientists

Rajshahi:Sixteen researchers from Rajshahi University have earned a place on the prestigious list of the world's top 2 percent scientists.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this recognition comes after a joint survey conducted by Stanford University and Elsevier, a leading Netherlands-based publisher of scientific and medical literature.

The selection of the researchers was based on several criteria, including the number of research papers published, citations, h-index, research consistency, and the impact of co-authors. This achievement highlights Rajshahi University's growing influence in global research and its strengthening position in the international academic community.

The recognized researchers include Prof Md. Ibrahim Hossain Mondal from the Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Prof Dr. Md. Ali Akbar from the Department of Applied Mathematics, and Prof Mirza Humayun Kabir Rubel from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, among others. Former Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Physics Saleh Hasan Naqib is also on the list, alongside other notable academics from various departments.

Expressing his delight, RU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Faridul Islam stated that having 16 researchers from the university included in such a prestigious list is a matter of great fortune. He emphasized the positive impact of this recognition on the university and its scholars. The vice-chancellor also mentioned plans to increase financial support for researchers and to inspire young scientists by showcasing these achievements.
