Measles Outbreak Claims More Children’s Lives

Dhaka:Six more children have died from measles and related symptoms in the past 24 hours, including two confirmed measles fatalities, increasing the total confirmed measles deaths this year to 104. The overall death toll from measles-related symptoms has now reached 1,036.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room released this information in a press statement today.

Within the last 24 hours, 1,280 suspected measles cases were reported. Since March 15, the total number of suspected measles cases has climbed to 200,293. During the same 24-hour period, 110 new confirmed measles cases were recorded, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 22,020.

From March 15 to October 7, hospitals admitted a total of 177,676 individuals with suspected measles. Of these patients, 170,473 have recovered and been discharged.
