UNESCO Delegation Explores Collaboration with July Museum

Dhaka:UNESCO Representative Dr. Susan Vize visited the July Museum with a delegation from UNESCO Bangladesh, where they were received by the Museum's Director General, Ehasan Mahamud.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the delegation engaged in discussions with Ehasan Mahamud, who expressed a strong interest in collaborating with UNESCO on projects related to education, research, and heritage preservation. Mahamud emphasized the museum's role not just as an exhibition space but as a center dedicated to preserving heritage, safeguarding culture, and conducting rigorous research.

During the visit, Dr. Vize highlighted the significance of the museum's collection, which includes documents and artifacts that reflect the turbulent events of July and August 2024. She stressed the importance of preserving these documents in honor of those who lost their lives and loved ones during that period.

The visit also included Norihide Furukawa, Head of Education at the UNESCO Dhaka Office, and Kizzy Tahnin, Head of Culture at the UNESCO Dhaka Office, who were among the attendees.
