Dhaka:Six more children have died with measles-like symptoms, increasing the total number of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths in the country to 1,134 this year.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has categorized these six recent fatalities as suspected measles deaths. This brings the total number of suspected measles deaths to 1,032, while the number of confirmed deaths from measles remains unchanged at 102.
In the last 24 hours, 1,291 new suspected measles cases have been reported, raising the cumulative number of suspected cases nationwide to 199,013. Additionally, 102 new confirmed measles cases have been recorded, bringing the total number of laboratory-confirmed infections to 21,910.
Since March 15, a total of 176,516 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalized across the country. Of these, 169,290 have recovered, as per DGHS data.
