Dhaka:State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir has called for stronger international efforts to ensure the early, safe, voluntary, and dignified return of Rohingyas to Myanmar.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Kobir warned that the prolonged crisis could have wider security implications and potentially fuel irregular migration.
The remarks were made during a courtesy call from a visiting delegation led by Apsana Begum MP, who chairs the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Bangladesh. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was highlighted in a press release from the ministry.
The visiting delegation also included Shockat Adam MP and Lord Qurban Hussain, a member of the House of Lords. During their discussions, Kobir emphasized that the Rohingya crisis had evolved beyond a mere humanitarian issue, posing broader challenges related to security and migration.
