Former Panchagarh-1 Lawmaker Arrested Over Abduction and Killing Case

Panchagarh:Police have arrested Naimuzzaman Bhuiyan Mukta, a former Panchagarh-1 lawmaker and banned Awami League district vice-president, in connection with a case involving the alleged abduction and killing of a rickshaw puller.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mukta was apprehended at his residence in the Kazipara Malin Bazar area of Dhakkamara Union in Panchagarh Sadar upazila. The arrest was made following a police operation based on confidential information indicating that Mukta was present at his home.

Inspector Ashish Kumar Shil of Panchagarh Sadar Police Station confirmed the arrest and stated that Mukta was taken into custody. After completing the necessary legal procedures, he was brought before a court.

There are 12 cases currently pending against Mukta, including the case related to the alleged abduction and killing of the rickshaw puller, as well as cases filed over vandalism and arson at a BNP office.
