Dhaka:In a significant anti-crime operation, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 447 individuals and filed 58 cases across the capital in the past 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, various divisions of the DMP carried out the arrests as part of their regular operations.
The breakdown of arrests includes 27 individuals from the Ramna Division, 47 from Lalbagh, 56 from Wari, 67 from Motijheel, 70 from Tejgaon, 101 from Mirpur, 29 from Gulshan, 47 from Uttara, and three from the Detective Branch.
During these operations, police confiscated two machetes, three knives, 51.5 kilograms of cannabis, 1,000 yaba tablets, 51 packets of heroin, 19 bottles of phensedyl, Tk 16,200 in cash, and two mobile phones.
The operations took place in various police station areas throughout the capital, and legal actions against the detainees are currently in progress.
