President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir Advocates Support for Underprivileged Students

Dhaka:President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called for sustained support for disadvantaged and underprivileged students while ensuring the quality of university education.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the president's remarks came during a meeting with a delegation from the Board of Trustees of East West University, led by the university's founding Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Farashuddin, at Bangabhaban.

During the meeting, Professor Farashuddin briefed the president on the university's academic activities, noting that approximately 16,000 students are currently enrolled. He highlighted the university's efforts in providing scholarships to meritorious and financially insolvent students.

Additionally, the vice-chancellor invited the president to attend the university's upcoming convocation, to which the president accepted the invitation and assured his presence.

The meeting was attended by the Military Secretary to the President, President's Secretary (Public Division, President's Office), its Press Secretary, along with the university's Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Treasurer, and Registrar.
