Chattogram:Dr. Shahadat Hossain, Mayor of the Chattogram City Corporation (CCC), emphasized the importance of destroying Aedes mosquito breeding grounds and increasing public awareness to control the spread of dengue.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the mayor stated that the city corporation’s efforts alone are insufficient and urged citizens to take responsibility from their respective positions.

During a cleanliness drive at the city's Rahattarpul intersection, organized by the CCC to combat dengue and chikungunya, the mayor stressed the need to raise awareness about dengue prevention. He highlighted the importance of cleanliness, noting that stagnant water is a breeding ground for Aedes mosquitoes. Residents were urged to regularly clean areas where water accumulates, such as homes, rooftops, balconies, and construction sites.

Local leaders, city corporation officials, staff, activists, and residents participated in the event. The mayor also emphasized the success of programs planned for September, October, and November in preventing dengue outbreaks.
