Dhaka:Bangladesh Bank: Digital transaction services of several banks, including card, ATM, and National Payment Switch Bangladesh (NPSB)-related services, have been disrupted due to technological upgrades, system migration, and maintenance of the Q-Cash network.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the disruption started at around 9:00 PM on October 4, 2026, as stated in a press release from the central bank's Department of Communications and Publications.
The Q-Cash network is managed by IT Consultants PLC. In response to the disruption, Bangladesh Bank has taken steps to protect customer interests and ensure the normal flow of financial transactions. The central bank has called upon the management of the involved institution to restore all card-related services, including switching services, as soon as possible.
The central bank clarified that regular transactions via various banks directly connected to the NPSB platform, mobile financial service providers, and other payment service providers are continuing without interruption. Additionally, payment systems operated by Bangladesh Bank, such as the Bangladesh Automated Clearing House Payment System, Bangladesh Electronic Funds Transfer Network, and Real Time Gross Settlement, are functioning normally.
Customers are advised by the central bank to follow instructions from their respective banks and use alternative payment platforms if needed during the disruption.
