Naogaon:A van driver lost his life and a passenger was critically injured in a collision with an ambulance on the Naogaon-Nazipur highway in Mahadebpur upazila this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident took place around 6:30 am in front of Madina Petrol Pump in the Enayetpur area. The deceased, identified as Niren Chandra Barman, 45, was from Mugrail village in the same upazila.
Niren, along with passenger Paresh, was traveling towards Nazipur when their van was struck from behind by the ambulance. Both individuals sustained injuries from the collision.
Local residents transported the injured to Mahadebpur Upazila Health Complex, where Niren was declared dead by the attending physician. Due to the severity of his injuries, Paresh was transferred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for further treatment.
Officer-in-Charge Omar Faruk of Mahadebpur Police Station confirmed the occurrence of the incident.
