Court Denies Bail for Actor Don in Salman Shah Murder Case

Dhaka:A court has rejected the bail plea of actor Ashraful Haque Don concerning the murder case of famed movie superstar Salman Shah.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Monjurul Islam issued the order following a hearing. Don was apprehended by immigration police on August 9 at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and subsequently transferred to the CID. On August 27, he was placed on a five-day remand related to the case.

Salman Shah's maternal uncle, Mohammad Alamgir, also known as Alamgir Kumkum, filed the murder case on October 21, 2025, against 11 individuals, including Salman's wife, Samira Haque, at the Ramna Police Station. The charges fall under sections 302 and 34 of the Penal Code.

Other accused individuals include Aziz Mohammad Bhai, Samira's mother Latifa Haque Lusi, Don, David, Zaved, Faruk, Ruby, A Sattar, Saju, and Rijvi Ahmed Farhad.

Previously, on October 20, 2025, Dhaka's sixth Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Jannatul Ferdous Ibn Haque instructed the officer-in-charge of Ramna Police Station to treat the death of Chowdhury Mohammad Shahriar, known as Salman Shah, as a murder case. The order declared the previous unnatural death case void, revoking it by the decision made on October 31, 2021.
