Dhaka:Executive Director of the Commonwealth Businesswomen's Network, Arif Zaman, met with State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam to explore strategies for attracting foreign investment ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in November 2026 in Antigua and Barbuda.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the discussions centered on promoting Bangladesh as a prime investment location, highlighting policy stability, and the country's goal of becoming a global manufacturing hub. They also emphasized strengthening the agricultural sector, rural businesses, and sustainable opportunities within Bangladesh's blue economy, renewable energy, and circular economy.
The meeting also addressed the potential of the Commonwealth Women's Forum, scheduled to coincide with CHOGM, as a platform to empower women entrepreneurs and help them reach their full potential.
