Chittagong University Professors Receive Eminent Teacher Award

Dhaka:Three distinguished professors from Chittagong University (CU) have been recognized with the national 'Eminent Teacher Award' in celebration of World Teachers' Day.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman presented the awards at a national event held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka. The honorees include the late Prof. Dr. Jamal Nazrul Islam of the Department of Mathematics, renowned globally for his contributions to physics, mathematics, astronomy, and cosmology.

The other two awardees are the late Prof. A N M Munir Ahmed Chowdhury from the Political Science Department and Prof. Amir Mohammad Nasrullah from the Public Administration Department. Sadaf Sajj Siddiqui accepted the award on behalf of her late father, Dr. Jamal Nazrul Islam, while CU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Forkan received the award for Prof. Dr. A N M Munir Ahmed Chowdhury. Prof. Dr. Amir Mohammad Nasrullah was present to accept his award.

Prof. Dr. Al-Forkan expressed heartfelt congratulations to the awardees, noting that this recognition brings immense joy and pride to the university. He emphasized that such accolades will motivate CU's faculty to pursue greater heights in education and research.

Overall, 102 outstanding teachers from various educational levels across the country were honored with the award, which includes a cheque of Tk two lakh, a crest, and a certificate of honor.
