Dhaka:The government recognized 102 distinguished teachers in a ceremony marking World Teachers' Day 2026.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman presented each teacher with a certificate, crest, and a cheque for Taka 200,000 at an event organized by the Ministry of Education at Osmani Memorial Auditorium.
The event highlighted the contributions of teachers to nation-building and emphasized the importance of their dignity, rights, and professional development.
The honorees included educators from various educational levels: 10 from primary, 20 from secondary, 25 from college, 20 from general universities, 10 from medical colleges and universities, three from agricultural universities, three from engineering universities, and four from other specialized universities. Additionally, seven teachers were specifically selected by the Prime Minister for recognition.
