Dhaka:Nine people have succumbed to dengue, and 1,902 individuals have been hospitalized with the infection in the past 24 hours across the country. This information comes from a regular report by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, The report details the distribution of new hospitalized dengue patients: 216 in Barishal Division, 272 in Chattogram Division, 401 in Dhaka Division outside the city corporation, 206 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 223 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 306 in Khulna Division, 98 in Mymensingh Division, 105 in Rajshahi Division, 66 in Rangpur Division, and nine in Sylhet Division.
Since the beginning of the year until October 5, a total of 88,360 people have been hospitalized due to dengue across the country. Out of these, 82,335 patients have recovered and been discharged after treatment. In the last 24 hours alone, 1,988 patients were discharged from hospitals.
With the recent fatalities, the total death toll from dengue in the country has reached 271 this year. In comparison, from January 1 to December 31, 2025, there were a total of 102,861 dengue infections and 413 deaths attributed to the disease.
