Dhaka:Three children have died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths to 1,128 this year.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has categorized these latest fatalities as suspected measles deaths. No confirmed measles deaths were recorded during this period.
This development brings the total suspected measles deaths to 1,026, while the number of confirmed measles deaths remains at 102. Additionally, 1,296 new suspected measles cases were reported, increasing the nationwide cumulative number of suspected cases to 197,722.
In the same timeframe, 60 new confirmed measles cases were identified, bringing the total number of laboratory-confirmed infections to 21,808. Since March 15, a total of 175,336 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalized, out of which 168,142 have recovered, as reported by the DGHS.
