Manikganj:A third-gender individual named Borsha was tragically killed in a road accident on the Jagir Bridge of the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Manikganj last night.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Borsha, who was a resident of Jagir village under Manikganj Sadar upazila, was crossing the bridge by rickshaw with an associate when a speeding passenger bus of Selfy Paribahan struck the rickshaw from behind. Borsha died immediately at the scene, while her associate and the rickshaw puller suffered serious injuries.
Golora Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Selim Matubbar confirmed the incident. He stated that the police had recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for an autopsy. Efforts were underway to arrest the bus driver.
A case has been filed with Manikganj Sadar Police Station regarding the incident.
