Pabna:July Uprising Memorial Museum: Rupa Huq, a Labour Party MP from the United Kingdom, visited the July Uprising Memorial Museum, where she explored exhibitions detailing the fascist rule of Sheikh Hasina, as well as events from the July uprising, including incidents of repression and torture.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Huq became emotional while viewing memorials of those killed during the uprising and historical documentaries. She described the exhibits as significant and painful, noting that many people abroad remain unaware of the human rights violations committed during the previous Awami League government.

Huq emphasized the importance of presenting these facts internationally, especially within diplomatic circles. During her visit, she showed a particular interest in the context of the July uprising in Pabna, her ancestral district, seeking detailed information about the situation and those killed during the movement.

At the conclusion of her visit, Huq signed the museum's visitors' book, commenting on the experience as "a fascinating exploration of recent history with lessons for the future. Not for the faint-hearted." She later met with the museum's Director General, Ehasan Mahamud, to discuss the museum's current activities and future plans, pledging her support for its development.

Huq also suggested that the museum should remain open for free visits to all citizens, considering the historical importance of the mass uprising.
