Khulna Police Launch Community Kabaddi Championship to Combat Social Issues

Khulna:The first Community Police Kabaddi Championship-2026 was inaugurated at the Police Lines in Boyra, aiming to promote sports among youths and raise awareness against drug abuse and juvenile gangs.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Md Sazzadur Rahman formally inaugurated the event by releasing balloons, festoons, and pigeons. The championship is held under the slogan "Say No to Drugs, Eliminate Juvenile Gangs, Build a Healthy and Strong Life."

Teams have been formed with selected talented and promising players aged below 20 from eight police station areas under the KMP. The players have been registered, and their performances will be assessed through prescribed evaluation forms after each match.

During the inaugural ceremony, Commissioner Rahman expressed gratitude to the guests, leaders of the district sports association, officials of the Kabaddi Federation, referees, and participating players. He emphasized the importance of creating positive awareness among young people through sports and highlighted the need for greater involvement in sports and cultural activities to address various social problems in Khulna.

The commissioner also thanked the organizers, sponsors, and supporting individuals and institutions for their contributions to the tournament, including venue decoration and transportation of players. He expressed hope for the successful completion of the championship and the achievement of its objectives.
