Chattogram:Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury emphasized the importance of foreign language training along with technical skills to prepare workers for overseas opportunities. He highlighted that the Bangladesh-Korea Technical Training Centre and the Women's Technical Training Centre in Chattogram should focus on language instruction to enhance the skills of workers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Minister made these remarks as the chief guest at an exchange meeting at the Industrial Relations Institute auditorium in Nasirabad, Chattogram. He underscored the necessity of training workers in languages such as Japanese, English, Arabic, and Korean to access international labor markets effectively.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Labour and Employment and judges from the First and Second Labour Courts in Chattogram. Choudhury also visited the local technical training centers, observing training sessions and activities.
He pointed out the significant demand for graphic designers and caregivers abroad, which he felt needed better promotion. He called for technical training centers nationwide to include relevant language training to align with employment opportunities in target countries.
Choudhury described private industries as national assets and expressed his commitment to developing the Bangladesh-Korea Technical Training Centre with government and BSRM cooperation. He also assured that infrastructure issues at Chattogram labor courts would be addressed promptly.
The meeting was presided over by Md Farhad Siddique, Inspector General of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments. Special guests included Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain and Labour Ministry Secretary Md Abdur Rahman Tarafder, among others.
