326 Arrested in Chattogram Range Anti-Narcotics Operations

Chattogram:Police have arrested 326 individuals across the 11 districts of the Chattogram Range during special anti-narcotics operations and regular case proceedings over the past 24 hours.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrests were announced by Chattogram Range DIG Abdul Kuddus Chowdhury following the extensive operations. Of those arrested, 84 were detained in connection with regular cases and 48 for prior cases.

Additionally, 28 individuals were apprehended under Section 34 of the Police Act, 11 under Section 54 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and 29 under Section 151 of the CrPC and other laws. Furthermore, 79 people were arrested on arrest warrants and eight on conviction warrants.

The anti-narcotics drive resulted in the arrest of 39 people in drug-related cases, while 31 drug dealers were detained in regular and other cases, totaling 70 arrests in the anti-narcotics operations. Authorities filed 20 drug-related cases as part of these efforts.

Mobile courts issued sentences of imprisonment to eight individuals and collected fines amounting to Taka 3,700. Law enforcement also seized a substantial amount of illicit substances, including 7,135 Yaba tablets, 8.3 kilograms of cannabis, 20 liters of illicitly distilled liquor, and four Tapentadol tablets.
