Government Open to Constructive Criticism, Says Minister

Kakrail:Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan emphasized the government's openness to constructive criticism during a discussion on development activities of the Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE).

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Khan stated that if any errors are identified in the government's work, necessary steps will be taken to address them. He urged individuals to avoid spreading false information or propaganda against the government.

Dr. Khan also encouraged all parties involved to contribute positively to maintaining a democratic environment and stability.

State Minister Mir Shahe Alam, speaking as a special guest at the event, highlighted the importance of securing funds for regular maintenance by the DPHE at the field level. He suggested initiatives to generate energy from waste in major cities and to implement low-cost waste management systems in smaller municipalities and upazilas.

Additionally, Alam stressed the importance of increasing the supply of safe water by treating river and pond water to reduce reliance on groundwater sources. The meeting was attended by Local Government Division Secretary Md. Shahidul Hassan, DPHE Chief Engineer Md. Jamanur Rahman, and other officials.
