Dhaka:National Productivity Day-2026 will be observed tomorrow, aiming to raise awareness across the nation to enhance productivity in sectors such as industry, agriculture, and services.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the National Productivity Organisation (NPO), under the Ministry of Industries, has planned various programs nationwide to commemorate the day. This year's theme emphasizes 'Combining Innovation, Technology and Skills to Increase Productivity'.
President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir highlighted in his message that productivity is crucial for economic progress, competitiveness, and improving living standards. He emphasized the importance of boosting productivity to optimize resource use, enhance product quality, and maintain competitiveness in international markets. He also extended greetings to those involved in production and service sectors.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, in his message, stressed the need for modern technology, innovation, skilled human resources, and effective management to ensure sustainable industrialization and economic growth. He noted that collaboration among stakeholders and government policy support are vital to achieving these goals.
The Prime Minister also pointed out the rapid transformation of industries due to AI, automation, robotics, and other technologies, emphasizing that Bangladesh must adapt to these changes. He mentioned the government's focus on skills development in its policies and the aim to grow the economy to US$1 trillion by 2034, highlighting the importance of a skills-based education system.
As part of the Ministry of Industries' initiatives, a rally and the 'National Productivity Innovation Fair' will be inaugurated tomorrow morning at BCIC College in Mirpur-1, with Industries Secretary Abdun Naser Khan attending as the chief guest.
