Gaibandha:Two young children tragically drowned in a pond at Dashlal village in Gobindaganj upazila on Wednesday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the victims were identified as Mim Akter, aged three, and her cousin Afrin Akter. Mim was the daughter of Farhad Ali from Dashlal village, while Afrin's father is Kabir Mondal from Delduar in Tangail.
Inspector Md Zahurul Haque, who is in charge of the Bairagihat Police Investigation Centre, reported that the two children were playing together when they accidentally fell into a pond near their house.
Family members, after searching for the missing children, discovered their bodies in the pond.
