Jatrabari:A woman, approximately 35 years old, lost her life after being run over by a speeding unidentified vehicle in the Jatrabari area of the capital.
According to United News of Bangladesh, police retrieved the body on Wednesday morning and later sent it to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Sub-Inspector Md Awlad Hossain of Jatrabari Police Station reported that the bloodstained body was found on the outgoing lane of the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway, opposite a readymade garment factory, at around 5 am. The woman is believed to have been crossing the road during the night when she was struck by the vehicle, which then fled the scene.
The victim died instantly from severe head injuries. Authorities are conducting legal procedures to identify the deceased and locate the vehicle involved.
