Tejgaon:Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is actively working towards establishing a safe and humane Bangladesh by promoting politics based on tolerance and humanity, according to his Press Secretary Saleh Shibly.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Saleh Shibly emphasized that Bangladesh is moving away from a past marked by 'fascist' misrule to a future guided by tolerance and humane values. He made these remarks during a press conference at the Karabi Hall of the Prime Minister's Office, following Rahman's recent visit to New York for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Shibly warned against mistaking the Prime Minister's approach for weakness, urging citizens to seize the current favorable conditions to build a society rooted in humane values. He also highlighted the importance of utilizing the existing opportunity to achieve a qualitative transformation in the country's politics and society.

During Rahman's visit to New York, where he spoke on world peace and global human rights, he traveled with a small delegation of 35 people on commercial flights, contrasting with the 293 individuals who previously traveled on special or chartered flights at public expense.

The press secretary noted that Rahman is not only focusing on political and economic empowerment but also aims to revive traditional religious, social, and family values in Bangladesh. He wants to build a society where mutual respect and care are prevalent, setting an example through his actions.

Shibly reflected on the past 15 years characterized by fear and control over politics and rights, stating that the current government aims to eliminate the politics of vengeance and foster a humane society. He also mentioned the challenges faced by Rahman, including false charges and exile, and how he has returned to lead the nation with the people's mandate.

The press conference was attended by several officials, including PM's Adviser Mahdi Amin and other press secretaries.
