Kushtia:Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) successfully thwarted an attempt to push an unidentified man into Bangladesh through the Daulatpur border in Kushtia. On the same day, the Border Security Force (BSF) fired several rounds and detonated sound grenades in a separate incident.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Lieutenant Colonel Rashed Kamal Rony, commander of Kushtia Battalion (47 BGB), reported that BGB members prevented the push-in attempt at the Daulatpur border. A flag meeting was subsequently held with the BSF, after which the individual was taken back into Indian territory.

The attempt involved members of the BSF's 146 Battalion from the Arsaripara Camp, who tried to force the man into Bangladesh at a location approximately 120 yards inside India from international border pillar 152/10-S. Local residents alerted the Jamalpur Border Outpost (BOP) of the BGB, prompting BGB members to take a defensive position with assistance from locals. The BSF eventually withdrew and returned the man to Indian territory via river.

Additionally, an unrelated incident occurred around 430 am in the Ashrayan BOP area of Daulatpur, where Indian drug traffickers encountered a BSF patrol team from the New Uday Camp. BSF members responded by detonating sound grenades and firing several shots, causing the traffickers to flee. No casualties were reported.

A flag meeting was also conducted regarding this incident, and Lieutenant Colonel Rashed Kamal stated that BGB patrols and surveillance have been heightened along the border to prevent further incidents.
