Rajshahi:A two-day training workshop focusing on the National Urban Policy, decentralized planning, and inclusive urban services has commenced at Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC). The event's inaugural ceremony took place at the City Hall room of Nagar Bhaban this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the workshop is organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and aims to cover various topics such as the National Urban Policy 2025, urban planning and management, public participation in urban service delivery, and decentralized planning and development.
The first day of the workshop emphasized participatory approaches to urban planning and development, increasing public involvement in urban service delivery, and ensuring inclusive services that meet the needs of city residents.
The opening ceremony was attended by Md. Rezaul Karim, Chief Executive Officer of RCC, as a special guest. Other notable attendees included RCC Superintending Engineer Ahmad Al Moin Parag, Chief Health Officer Dr. F.A.M. Anjuman Ara Begum, Executive Engineer Nilufer Yasmin, and Chief Community Development Officer Shihab Uddin Chowdhury.
Professor Jasim Uddin, General Secretary of RCC's Social Welfare and Slum Development Unit, delivered the welcome speech, while UNDP Senior Planner Syed Shahriar Amin conducted the training sessions.
