Dhaka:Two concerts featuring Pakistani artists have been postponed at the last minute because the organizers could not secure the necessary security clearance.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the 'mAhx Republic' concert, which was part of the launch activities for the Xiaomi REDMI Note 17 series, was supposed to take place on September 25 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal. The event was set to feature Pakistani musicians Ali Azmat of Junoon, Jal The Band, and Mustafa Zahid featuring Roxen, alongside Bangladeshi acts such as Nagarbaul, Nemesis, Level Five, and Shironamhin.
An organizer of the 'mAhx Republic' concert, who requested anonymity, stated that all preparations were complete, including advance payments to the artists, but they had to postpone the event as security permission was not granted at the last moment. Further details are expected to be announced at a press conference on Thursday, September 24.
In addition, the 'Wave Fest: Enjoy the Full Moon' concert, organized by PrimeWave Communication and featuring Pakistani band Kaavish, has also been postponed for similar reasons. Kaavish was scheduled to perform in Dhaka on September 26 alongside Bangladeshi bands Shironamhin and Meghdol. This event had previously been postponed due to security-related permission issues and was rescheduled after nearly 10 months.
Organizers of both concerts are expected to announce new dates soon. Additionally, three other concerts featuring foreign artists have been postponed, though specific details about these events are not yet available.
