Bogura:Two individuals lost their lives and seven others sustained injuries in a collision involving a microbus and a maize-laden truck on the Dhaka-Bogura highway in Shajahanpur upazila of Bogura district early Thursday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the tragic accident took place around 4 a.m. in the Noymile bus stand area. The victims, identified as Ferdous Mondal, 25, and Zubayedul Islam, 30, were both from Akkelpur upazila of Joypurhat district.
Aiyub Ali, Officer-in-Charge of Sherpur Highway Police Station, reported that a family was returning to Joypurhat's Akkelpur from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka after receiving a relative. The microbus driver mistakenly entered the wrong lane, resulting in a head-on collision with the oncoming truck. Ferdous Mondal and Zubayedul Islam died instantly.
The seven injured passengers were taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura for medical treatment.
