Dhaka:Bangladesh's Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister, Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, announced that the nation is poised to further expand its cooperation with China in various sectors, including trade, investment, infrastructure, energy, technology, and cultural exchanges.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the announcement was made by Dr. Moyeen Khan during a reception in Dhaka, marking the 77th anniversary of the People's Republic of China. The event was attended by Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen, as well as senior political leaders, government officials, diplomats, business leaders, and journalists.
Dr. Moyeen Khan emphasized that Bangladesh looks forward to the next decade of deeper collaboration with China, not only in trade and commerce but also in friendship and cultural exchanges. He highlighted the importance of empowering people and strengthening small businesses through future partnerships, noting that small traders can serve as ambassadors between the two nations.
Reflecting on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's recent visit to China, Dr. Moyeen described it as a milestone, opening the way for transformative projects and advancing bilateral relations. He praised China's development over the past 77 years as a significant example of transformation, relevant to Bangladesh's own development priorities.
He noted that, despite differences in political philosophies, both countries share a common goal of improving the lives of less privileged people. Bangladesh is eager to learn from China's experiences in infrastructure development, technology, and urbanization.
The minister also highlighted the importance of increasing exchanges among students, businesspeople, journalists, and professionals to deepen mutual understanding and expand future cooperation. He expressed gratitude to Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen for his efforts in advancing Bangladesh-China relations.
Dr. Moyeen concluded by extending Bangladesh's best wishes to China on its anniversary and expressed his hope for continued peace, prosperity, and progress in the relationship between the two countries.
