Dhaka: Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain announced that the government plans to introduce the world's latest medical technologies to Bangladesh to enhance healthcare services. This initiative aims to provide advanced treatment options across the country.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has directed authorities to ensure that hospitals nationwide are equipped with world-class healthcare facilities. The minister's comments were made during a seminar at Dhaka Medical College, held in conjunction with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Awareness Week.
PCOS is a hormonal and metabolic disorder that affects women, contributing to increasing infertility rates in Bangladesh. The minister highlighted that modern medical treatments in various countries have improved opportunities for women with the condition to conceive.
Bangladesh has already reached out to technologically advanced nations, including China, to acquire modern medical technologies soon. The minister noted that 8-10 percent of women in Bangladesh are affected by PCOS, underscoring the need for advanced medical interventions.
