Golapi begum: The house was formally handed over to her at Ratanpur village in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria today, said a press release issued today by 'Amra BNP Poribar'.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, on behalf of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister and adviser to 'Amra BNP Poribar' M. Rashiduzzaman Millat handed over the keys of the new house to Golapi Begum this noon. She was also provided with financial assistance.
The press release mentioned that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman became aware of Golapi Begum's plight during a programme of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal in 2025. He subsequently instructed his Additional Press Secretary, Atikur Rahman Ruman, to take necessary measures for her treatment and rehabilitation.
Golapi Begum received treatment for nearly a year and was provided accommodation in Dhaka. Later, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman directed the construction of a new house for her permanent rehabilitation. Accordingly, 'Amra BNP Poribar' constructed the house for Golapi Begum at Ratanpur village in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria.
The ceremony was attended by 'Amra BNP Poribar' Secretary General Agriculturist Md Moksedul Momin (Mithun), members Masud Rana Liton, Mustakim Billah, Shakil Ahmed, and Shahadat Hossain. Additionally, lawmaker from Brahmanbaria-3 and district BNP president Engineer Khaled Hossain Mahbub Shyamol, district BNP general secretary Sirajul Islam Siraj, lawmaker from Brahmanbaria-5 Advocate Abdul Mannan, Qatar BNP general secretary Shariful Haque Saju, former BUET Chhatra Dal general secretary Engineer Abu Hanif, Chhatra Dal central committee joint secretary Hasnain Nahian Sajib, Hasanur Rahman, Dhaka College Chhatra Dal leader Abdullah Al Misbah, and local BNP leaders and political activists were present.
The leaders emphasized the organization's commitment to supporting underprivileged and distressed people through humanitarian assistance and rehabilitation programs. They assured that such initiatives would persist under the guidance of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
