Dhaka: The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 2,923 cases against traffic law violators during the last 24 hours in the capital. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a DMP media and public relations division press release indicated that during the enforcement drives, a total of 622 vehicles were dumped and 374 vehicles were towed.
A spokesperson of the DMP reported that the Traffic-Ramna Division filed 128 cases, which included 14 against buses, six covered vans, six CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 36 motorcycles. Meanwhile, the Traffic-Lalbagh Division filed 168 cases, with 15 against buses, 16 trucks, one covered van, 14 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 76 motorcycles.
Furthermore, the Traffic-Motijheel Division filed 327 cases, which included 15 against buses, three trucks, 24 covered vans, 60 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 170 motorcycles. The DMP statement also mentioned that the Traffic-Wari Division filed 482 cases, including 22 against buses, 37 trucks, 47 covered vans, 95 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 165 motorcycles. The Traffic-Tejgaon Division filed 211 cases, which included 16 against buses, two trucks, eight covered vans, 35 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 90 motorcycles.
In addition, the Traffic-Mirpur Division filed 505 cases, including 34 against buses, 38 trucks, 52 covered vans, 60 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 271 motorcycles. The Traffic-Uttara Division filed 623 cases, which included 47 against buses, 14 trucks, 30 covered vans, 62 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 272 motorcycles.
Meanwhile, the DMP reported that the Traffic-Gulshan Division filed 479 cases, which included 32 against buses, 12 trucks, 19 covered vans, 31 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 145 motorcycles. The statement added that the DMP's traffic enforcement drives would continue across the capital to ensure traffic discipline.
