Dhaka: Maldivian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Shiuneen Rasheed emphasized the Maldives' extensive tourism offerings during her address at the 13th Asian Tourism Fair in Dhaka. She highlighted that the Maldives offers a range of options for travelers, including luxury resorts, liveaboards, island-hopping experiences, and affordable accommodations on local islands, providing visitors with opportunities to engage with the local culture and communities.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the high commissioner underscored the Maldives' ongoing participation in the tourism fair, reinforcing the destination's appeal and accessibility for diverse types of travelers. The event, which began on Thursday at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), is a three-day exhibition that showcases travel and tourism offerings from both local and international exhibitors.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat also spoke at the event as the chief guest. The fair, which continues to be supported by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, and the Bangladesh Tourism Board, features over 200 organizations representing 10 countries, including Bangladesh. Nearly 300 booths are set up across three halls, displaying the products and services of hotels, resorts, tour operators, travel agents, airlines, and both public and private tourism bodies.
Attendees of the fair can also enjoy cultural performances from Bangladesh, Nepal, and the Philippines each evening, adding an enriching cultural dimension to the event.
