241 New Dengue Patients Hospitalised in Khulna in 24 Hours

Khulna: A total of 241 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across Khulna Division in the past 24 hours, according to the latest report of the health department. The patients were hospitalised between 8am Wednesday and 8am Thursday, with 188 admitted to government hospitals and 53 to private hospitals in the division.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, one more dengue-related death was reported during the period, taking the number of fatalities from the disease in the division to 35 this year. Since January 1, the division has recorded 9,989 dengue cases, of whom 8,601 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

Currently, 1,110 dengue patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals across the division, while 243 patients have so far been referred to other places for advanced treatment. Khulna district has recorded the highest number of dengue cases in the division, with 3,748 patients reported so far. Of them, 2,151 patients have been identified at Khulna Medical College Hospital.

Health authorities have continued to urge people to take preventive measures against dengue and destroy potential breeding grounds of Aedes mosquitoes to curb the spread of the disease.
