Rangpur: Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) today organised a training programme aimed at enhancing the skills and capabilities of its personnel for the smooth, impartial, professional and responsible discharge of election duties. RpMP Commissioner Md Mahbubur Rashid attended the training session, held at the Police Training School of RpMP, as the chief guest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) Maruf Ahmed, Deputy Police Commissioner (DB) Sanatan Chakraborty, and other senior police officials were present at the session. The chief guest instructed police personnel to discharge their responsibilities diligently at all stages of the election process - before, during, and after the election.
He emphasised the importance of intelligence gathering, advance preparations to address potential risks and law-and-order situations, and providing necessary information to the relevant authorities ahead of the election. He stressed the need to help voters exercise their franchise without hindrance, maintain law and order, and deal with any untoward situation professionally while performing duties at polling centres.
He urged police personnel to perform their duties with competence and dedication in all critical areas of public safety, including during the upcoming election.
