Rajshahi: As the water level of the Padma River has risen, Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Mahfuzur Rahman Riton stood beside the flood-affected people living on the riverbank in the Talaimari Shaheed Minar area of Rajshahi metropolis. This afternoon, he personally distributed food items and emergency medicines among the flood victims in the area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the distribution, RCC Administrator Riton listened attentively to the flood-affected residents, assuring them of ongoing support. He emphasized the moral responsibility to support people during times of distress, acknowledging the challenges faced due to the rising water levels of the Padma River. Riton stated, "We, on behalf of the City Corporation, have stood by the flood victims."
Leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations also joined in providing assistance. Riton highlighted the importance of not letting anyone feel helpless during this time, reaffirming their commitment to offering humanitarian aid and continuing support in the future.
Food items are being provided to every flood-affected family, and necessary assistance will persist to alleviate the suffering of people living on the riverbanks and in low-lying areas. Present at the event were RCC Secretary Sohel Rana, Chief Conservancy Officer Sheikh Mamun, and other officials, along with Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP Vice Presidents Aslam Sarkar, Muktar Hossain, and Joynal Abedin, as well as Organizing Secretary Rabiul Alam Milu and other leaders.
