Dhaka: A court here today placed two activists of the activities-banned Awami League (AL) and its front organisations on a seven-day remand each in a case filed over their alleged flash procession in the capital's Gulshan area on September 11. The remanded accused are Rasel Mahmud and Rafik. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jewel Rana passed the order as police produced them before the court and pleaded to place them on a seven-day remand each.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the case documents indicate that the accused brought out a flash procession on Road 3 in Gulshan-1 around 11:50 am on September 11. During the procession, they exploded a couple of crude bombs, causing panic in the area. As a result, the police filed the case under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
