Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has enquired about the condition of July uprising martyr Zubayer Hossain's sister, Jesmin Akter, who recently underwent surgery at the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital (NINS) in the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, at the directives of Tarique Rahman, Amra BNP Paribar member secretary Moksedul Momin Mithun visited Jesmin at the hospital. The physicians informed Mithun that Jesmin's condition was improving, as stated in a press release.
The visit was attended by several notable figures including Professor Dr AZM Saifuddin Babu, head of the Neuro-Anesthesia Department at NINS; Dr MR Hasan, legal affairs secretary of the Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB); Golam Rahman, father of July martyr Nafiz and chairman of the 'July 24 Martyrs' Families Society; JCD Central Committee Joint General Secretary Zahid Shakil; JCD leader Mashiur Rahman Mahan; and Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University JCD leader Morsalin Anik.
Zubayer was killed in Lalmonirhat on August 5 during the 2024 July uprising. His only sister, Jesmin Akter, a Class XII student, had been suffering from a brain tumor.
