One Dies, 79 Dengue Patients Hospitalized in 24-Hours in Chattogram

Chattogram: One more dengue patient died and 79 new patients were admitted to different hospitals across the district in the past 24 hours. With this new fatality, the cumulative mortality rate from dengue in Chattogram has reached 14, as per the dengue epidemiological report released by the Civil Surgeon's Office today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, of the new cases, 28 were admitted at Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), six at the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID), 12 at the 250-bed General Hospital, 18 at different Upazila Health Complexes, and 15 at various private medical facilities and clinics. The aggregate number of newly-admitted patients during this interval totaled 79.

The deceased, Rafsun Mohammad, 27, an inhabitant of Sitakunda upazila of the district, succumbed to dengue on September 15 at Apollo Imperial Hospital, the release added.
