Dhaka: The government has appointed journalist Ehsan Mahmud as the Director General of the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum. The announcement came through a gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration, outlining the terms of his new role.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ehsan Mahmud's appointment is under the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum Act, 2026, and is set on a contractual basis for a period of one year from the date he assumes his duties. The notification specifies that Mahmud must sever all ties with government, semi-government, and private organizations, in addition to any other organizations, businesses, and professions, to fulfill the conditions of his appointment.
