Khulna: The Khulna City unit of Jatiyatabadi Jubodal has launched a month-long mosquito control campaign in the city amid a worsening dengue situation. As part of the campaign, Jubodal units in Ward No. 4 and Aranghata Union conducted mosquito control drives on Tuesday afternoon using fogging machines and spraying equipment.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the drives were led by Ward No. 4 Jubodal Convener Md Zakir Hossain and Aranghata Union Convener Narayan Mishra. Ward No. 4 Jubodal Member Secretary S M Mizanur Rahman Mizan and Union Member Secretary Mahibur Islam separately coordinated the programmes.
Khulna City Jubodal Convener Abdul Aziz Sumon attended the programmes as chief guest, while its Member Secretary Rabiul Islam Rubel was present as special guest. Speaking on the occasion, Sumon emphasized the need for immediate and effective measures to prevent and contain dengue in Khulna. He urged the administration, public representatives, political and social organizations, and people from all walks of life to work together to curb the spread of the disease.
