Khulna: A total of 302 new dengue patients were hospitalized in Khulna division in the last 24 hours, according to the latest report released by the health department.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, of the newly admitted patients, 246 were taken to government hospitals and 56 to private hospitals. The report also confirmed one more dengue-related death during the period, taking the total number of dengue deaths in the division this year to 30.
Since January 1, a total of 9,109 dengue cases have been reported across Khulna division. Of them, 7,813 patients have recovered and been discharged, while 1,041 are currently receiving treatment at different hospitals. Another 225 patients have been referred to other hospitals for better treatment, the report said.
Khulna district has recorded the highest number of dengue cases in the division. So far, 3,403 patients have been diagnosed with dengue in the district, including 2,007 cases reported at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH).
Health authorities have urged people to keep their homes and workplaces clean and take preventive measures to stop the breeding of Aedes mosquitoes.
